Introduction

There is currently an enormous difference between the residential ventilation rates recommended by the International Residential Code (IRC) and ASHRAE. This short presentation describes the most common current approach to ventilation (exhaust-only ventilation) before outlining the main differences between the recommended code rates and the ASHRAE rates, applying each to a hypothetical new house.
