The Email architect action lets you introduce yourself to an engaged architect on a project without either side sharing a real email address up front. Acelab generates a masked (proxy) address, opens your email client, and routes the architect’s reply straight to your inbox. Use it to open a conversation on a project you’ve been watching in the Projects page.

Where to Find It

There are two entry points, both on the Projects experience:
  • Project detail drawer header — the Email architect button in the drawer header. Eligibility is checked when the drawer opens, so the button shows disabled with a reason if you can’t currently introduce.
  • Projects table row — the envelope icon on the row. Eligibility is checked when you click, and any reason you can’t proceed shows in the modal that opens.
Both entry points open the same Email an architect modal.

Steps

  1. Open the Project detail drawer for the project (from the Projects table, or from an Account drawer’s Projects tab).
  2. Click Email architect in the drawer header, or the envelope icon on the row.
  3. In the Email an architect modal, review the list of eligible architects engaged on the project.
  4. Click Introduce next to the architect you want to email.
  5. Your email client opens with the architect’s masked address in the To field.
  6. Compose your message and send. Replies come back to your inbox.
After you introduce someone, the button on that row changes to Introduced so you don’t accidentally send twice.

What the Architect Sees

The architect receives an email from a masked Acelab address on your behalf. They see your name and brand, not a real reply-to address. When they reply, Acelab routes the message back to your inbox using the same masked thread. The masked address is scoped to that architect and that project, so future replies stay in the same thread. Neither side sees the other’s real inbox unless someone chooses to share it in the body of a message.

Eligibility

Before letting you introduce, Acelab checks whether you and the project are eligible. If not, the modal (or the disabled button’s tooltip) shows the reason. Common reasons: If you see one of these and think it shouldn’t apply, contact Acelab support.

Who Shows Up as an Engaged Architect

The modal lists architects who have signaled engagement on the project, for example, they saved your product to the project, mapped it to a Revit model, added it to a spec, or sent an info request. Architects who haven’t engaged with your brand on that project won’t appear. If the modal shows “No engaged architects to introduce yet,” wait for a project-level signal (see Navigating the Projects Page for signal types) and try again.

Tips

  • Lead with context. The architect knows you’re being introduced through Acelab. Reference the specific signal or product where you can (“I saw you saved our XYZ panel to your project…”).
  • Introduce one architect at a time. The Introduced state prevents double-sending on the same project.
  • Watch your monthly limit. If your brand is close to its cap, prioritize projects with higher-intent signals (Added to Spec, Mapped to Revit Model) over lower-intent ones.
  • Track outcomes in Notes. Once you’ve introduced yourself, log the outcome in the project’s Notes tab so your team has context on next steps.
