Coverage Assignment lets your organization define its sales territories and assign reps to them per brand. This configuration drives lead routing and rep surfacing across the platform — when an architect looks at your products or reaches out from a project, they’re connected to the rep who actually covers their region. Without coverage configured, architects fall back to generic contact paths or have to look up rep information externally. With it, the right rep surfaces contextually, every time.

How It Works

Coverage Assignment is a two-step model, both managed from the Coverage Assignment page in your partner workspace:
  1. Territory Classification — An Org Admin groups US states into named territories (for example, “Northeast” or “Pacific”). Territories are global: one set of definitions applies across all of your brands. This step is a prerequisite — rep assignment isn’t possible until at least one territory exists.
  2. Rep Assignment — Managers assign team members to territories within each brand. Each brand renders as its own section with a grid: territories as columns, product lines as rows, and rep chips in each cell.

Key Concepts

Territories

Named groups of US states (all 50 states plus DC are available). Each state belongs to exactly one territory, so there’s never ambiguity about which rep covers an inquiry. Territories become the columns of every brand’s assignment grid.

The Assignment Grid

Each brand is an independent, collapsible section containing a table:
  • A pinned Product Line column stays visible while territory columns scroll horizontally.
  • The first row is All Product Lines — reps added there are automatically applied to every product line in that brand and territory.
  • Each cell holds the assigned reps as chips (avatar + name), with a + Add Rep control and a See More toggle when reps overflow the cell.

Assignable Reps

The rep dropdown draws from your existing team members — specifically Brand Managers and Brand Reps on that brand. Org Admins, Org Viewers, and AECO-Invited Reps are not assignable. There’s no separate rep creation here; team membership is managed on the Team Dashboard.

Who Can Do What

Permissions are enforced both in the UI and server-side: A member who manages multiple brands can edit each of their managed brands independently. Edits outside a member’s scope are rejected server-side regardless of what the UI shows.

Where Coverage Shows Up

  • Coverage Assignment page — the primary surface for territory setup and rep assignment.
  • Team Dashboard — the Members table includes a Coverage Assignment column showing each member’s territories as chips. Managers can add or remove territories inline from a member’s row, and changes stay in sync with the Coverage Assignment page in both directions. See Understanding Your Team Dashboard.
