The Add Product CTA in the Smart Docs top toolbar lets you pull specific products from a project schedule into your Smart Doc. Each product you select gets its own page inside the linked Reference Binder, pre-populated with the product’s data through Smart Fields. Use Add Product when you want to curate a subset of products (for a submittal, cutsheet set, or client presentation) rather than including an entire schedule.

Before You Begin

  • You need an existing project schedule with at least one product on it. If your project has no products yet, add them in Schedules first.
  • Your Smart Doc should include a Reference Binder linked to the schedule you want to pull from. If you don’t have one, you’ll be prompted to create one when you add your first product.

Steps to Add Products

  1. Open the Smart Doc you want to add products to.
  2. In the top toolbar, click Add Product.
  3. In the product picker, select the schedule to pull products from.
  4. Browse or search the schedule’s products and check the ones you want to add.
  5. Click Add to confirm your selection.
  6. A page is generated for each selected product inside the linked Reference Binder, using its layout and Smart Fields.

What Happens After You Add Products

  • Each selected product becomes a new page inside the Reference Binder.
  • Every Product Smart Field on the binder’s layout resolves to that product’s data (Manufacturer, Model, Finish, Lead Time, and any custom fields).
  • Pages stay in sync with the underlying schedule. Editing a product in Schedules updates its page automatically.
  • Removing a product from the schedule removes its page from the binder.

Tips

  • Design your Reference Binder layout first. The layout you build on one binder page is applied to every product page added through Add Product.
  • Add products in batches rather than one at a time to keep page order predictable.
  • Reorder product pages in the Pages drawer after adding them if you need a specific sequence in your deliverable.
