Loose Pages are standalone pages in a Smart Doc that don’t belong to a binder. Use them for cover sheets, section dividers, tables of contents, notes, or any content that doesn’t need to repeat per product.

When To Use Loose Pages

Loose Pages are best for one-off content that stands on its own. Common uses:
  • Cover pages at the front of a submittal or specification package.
  • Section dividers between binders.
  • Instructions, legends, or notes that apply to the whole document.
  • Sign-off pages or approval blocks at the end of a document.
If you need the same layout to repeat for every product in a schedule, use a Reference Binder instead.

Adding a Loose Page

  1. Open a Smart Doc.
  2. In the left rail, open the Pages drawer.
  3. Next to Loose Pages, click the + icon.
  4. A blank page is added to the Loose Pages list and opens on the canvas.
Each new loose page is added to the bottom of the Loose Pages list.

Organizing Loose Pages

From the Pages drawer you can:
  • Reorder pages by dragging them up or down within the Loose Pages list.
  • Rename a page by double-clicking its title, or from the page’s action menu.
  • Duplicate a page from the action menu to reuse its layout.
  • Delete a page from the action menu.

Editing a Loose Page

Click a page in the Pages drawer to open it on the canvas. From there:
  • Insert Smart Doc Elements (text, images, checklists, tables, dividers, page numbers, form fields) from the left rail.
  • Insert Smart Fields to bring in live company or project data.
  • Insert a Smart Schedule to display a full project schedule as a table.
  • Adjust page size, background, and orientation in the Page Inspector on the right.

Saving a Loose Page as a Template

You can save any loose page as a reusable Page Template. Open the page’s action menu in the Pages drawer and choose Save as Template. The saved layout can then be applied to new pages in this or other Smart Docs.
